FDA allows Actavis to market generic Aricept in US
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given marketing approval to Actavis' Donepezil Hydrochloride Tablets, a generic equivalent of Aricept, in the US.
Aricept (donepezil HCl) is a prescription medicine to treat mild, moderate and severe Alzheimer's disease.
Actavis is a pharmaceutical company specializing in the development, manufacture and sale of generic pharmaceuticals.
Based in Morristown, NJ, Actavis has operations in 40 countries, with more than 10,500 employees.
